Melrose sits on the Sauk River in Stearns County southeast of Alexandria, a proud community with a lot of well-built older homes that take the full weight of central-Minnesota wind, hail, and hard winters. We cover the area for full roof replacements, repairs, and storm- and hail-damage restoration, with straight answers about what your home’s exterior needs from a comprehensive inspection and honest documentation, including help with an insurance claim when the damage is real.
Melrose, on the Sauk River in Stearns County, is within Think Exterior’s service area — we handle the inspection, the estimate, and the work ourselves.
Melrose is a Sauk River town of about 3,600 with deep German-Catholic and dairy roots dating to the 1850s. Its landmark St. Mary’s (St. Boniface) church, built in 1898 and listed on the National Register, was severely damaged by a 2016 fire; the parish now worships at a newer building. From century-old brick to working farm buildings, Melrose has exteriors worth doing right.
Ice dams form when heat escaping the home melts snow on the upper roof and the runoff refreezes at the colder eaves, backing water under the shingles. An inspection can flag exterior damage and the warning signs before they reach the interior.
A storm passing through doesn’t automatically mean your roof is damaged, and we won’t say it is when it isn’t. Plenty of our inspections end with no work needed — and that honest answer is exactly what earns a callback down the road.
Roofing (repair and full replacement), siding, and storm-damage documentation. Our workmanship carries a 5-year warranty, separate from the manufacturer’s material warranty on what we install. For storm work we document the exterior conditions we observe and prepare a construction scope and repair estimate as your contractor — we don’t interpret insurance coverage, act as your public adjuster, or negotiate your claim.
