Alexandria is home base. Our name is on roofs all over town, most of our reviews come from right here, and you’ll find our crew out on jobs across the Alexandria lakes area any given week. When a Douglas County storm rolls through, we’re the local team that shows up fast, gets on the roof, and tells you straight what the hail and wind actually did — and helps you through an insurance claim when there’s real damage.
Alexandria is home. Think Exterior is based right here in the Douglas County seat, at the center of the Alexandria Lakes Area — and this is where the bulk of our roofing and siding work happens. Call us and you get the local contractor whose completed jobs are all around town, not a crew driving in from three counties over.
This is our home county, and it’s where most of our work is. The person who inspects your roof is local, accountable, and easy to reach — and stands behind what we build. That closeness is the whole point: we’re here for the callback years down the road, not just the one job.
The Alexandria Lakes Area gets its share of summer hail and wind, and winters here run long enough that ice dams are a real roof problem — heat escaping the home melts snow that refreezes at the colder eaves and backs water under the shingles. After a storm, look from the ground for lifted or missing shingles, dented gutters, damaged siding, and fresh interior water stains — and leave the wet, icy climb to us.
A storm crossing Alexandria doesn’t automatically mean damage, and we won’t say it does when it doesn’t. A good share of our inspections end with “you’re in good shape” — and that’s exactly what we tell you. Honest findings are how a home-county contractor keeps earning the next call.
Roofing (repair and full replacement), siding, and storm-damage documentation. Our workmanship carries a 5-year warranty, separate from the manufacturer’s material warranty on what we install. For storm work we document the exterior conditions we observe and prepare a construction scope and repair estimate as your contractor — we don’t interpret insurance coverage, act as your public adjuster, or negotiate your claim. June 20–21, 2022. A severe overnight storm moved across Douglas County. The Minnesota DNR documented a death and a hospitalization near Alexandria when the storm blew a tree onto a camper at a resort on the west side of Lake Mary, along with widespread tree damage throughout the Alexandria area — one of several rounds of severe storms to hit the county that summer.
